1. Every student must carry their almanac (school diary) to school every day without exception.
2. English is the compulsory language of conversation within the school campus at all times.
3. Students must arrive at school at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time, in full and proper school uniform.
4. Discipline and respect — towards teachers, support staff, and fellow students — is expected at all times.
5. School property must be treated with care. The cost of any damage caused will be recovered from the student responsible.
6. Students suffering from contagious or infectious diseases will not be permitted to attend class until they are fully recovered and have submitted a medical clearance note.
7. Participation in all co-curricular activities is compulsory. These activities are designed for holistic development and form a core part of the SMJPS experience.
8. The following items are strictly prohibited on school premises: jewellery, wrist watches, make-up, mobile phones, gutka or tobacco products, and sharp objects including blades, knives, scissors, and needles.
9. Students are expected to make productive and responsible use of their time — in class, during breaks, and during free periods.
10. Personal hygiene is important. Students must maintain their own cleanliness and take care of shared spaces throughout the campus.
11. Vulgarity in language, tone, or behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
12. Students must attend school in a neat, well-ironed, complete school uniform at all times. Boys are required to maintain a short, clean haircut. Students out of compliance will be sent home, and parents will be contacted.
13. Academic growth is a continuous journey. Students are expected to strive consistently — not to be satisfied with past performance, but to keep improving.
14. Students must not participate in any antisocial, harmful, or disruptive activities — on or off school premises. Conduct that brings the school's reputation into disrepute will be treated seriously.
15. Any student found violating major disciplinary rules may be referred to the school Discipline Committee. The Committee's decisions are final and binding.
Parents & Guardian Guidelines
1. To meet the Principal, please arrange a prior appointment by telephone. Walk-in meetings with the Principal are not available during school hours.
2. All communication with teachers should be routed through the student's almanac or through the school reception. Direct classroom access during teaching hours is not permitted.
3. Parents are encouraged to actively support their child's interest in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. Your encouragement at home has a direct and powerful impact on your child's confidence at school.
4. In the case of extended absence, please contact the Principal's office to obtain guidance on how to help your child make up for missed study time.
5. All school circulars, notes, and remarks from teachers must be read promptly and carefully. These communications are an important part of staying connected to your child's school journey.
6. Parents are encouraged to spend quality time reviewing their child's notebooks and assignments — particularly on weekends. This involvement makes a significant difference to academic outcomes.
7. Parents are requested to visit the school 2–3 times per month to review their child's progress and engage with teachers. School visits are welcome on Saturdays between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
8. Please provide the school with complete and up-to-date contact information — including home, office, and mobile numbers. This information is critical in the event of an emergency and must be kept current at all times.
9. Taking leave during working school days is strongly discouraged. If leave is unavoidable, the responsibility for ensuring the student is caught up academically rests with the parent. The school will expect the student to be at par with their class upon return.
10. Please encourage your child to take ownership of their belongings. The school is not responsible for lost or misplaced items.
11. Parents must not enter classrooms to see their child or speak with teachers during class hours under any circumstances, without prior permission from the Principal.
12. Parents who consistently avoid meeting school authorities when requested may find that their child is no longer permitted to continue in their current class.
13. If your child is unwell or sick, please do not send them to school. Send a written leave application to the school office. Unwell students put other children at risk.
14. Disciplinary matters involving students are handled by the school Discipline Committee. The decisions of the Committee are final and must be respected by all parties.
15. Students should handle their lunch, drinking water, and personal needs during recess only. Interruptions during class time for these purposes are not permitted.
16. Please report directly to the reception on arrival at the school. Do not proceed to classrooms or staff areas independently.
